About Us

Hi, I’m Becca, the educator behind Lighthouse Literacy.

I work with children who are learning to read, struggling to read, or simply need a clearer path forward. My goal is simple: to help young readers feel confident, capable, and supported as they build strong literacy skills that will last a lifetime.

I hold certification in the Science of Reading and am trained in the Orton-Gillingham approach, which means my instruction is structured, systematic, and grounded in research — not guesswork. I focus on building foundational skills step by step, so reading begins to make sense instead of feeling overwhelming.

At Lighthouse Literacy, I believe children learn best when they feel safe, understood, and encouraged. That’s why my sessions are intentionally short, focused, and highly personalized. Each lesson is designed around your child’s specific strengths and needs, allowing them to make meaningful progress without burnout or frustration.

I know how emotional reading struggles can be — for both children and parents. When reading is hard, confidence can disappear quickly. My role is to be a steady guide, offering clarity, structure, and reassurance while helping your child find their way forward.

Lighthouse Literacy was created to be exactly that:
a steady light when reading feels uncertain.

Whether your child needs targeted intervention, homeschool literacy support, or help rebuilding confidence, I’m here to walk alongside your family — one step, one sound, and one success at a time.

Every reader deserves clear guidance, patient instruction, and the chance to shine!
